02 May 2019 – The Embassy undertook its first consular outreach mission to Canada’s Maritime provinces for the year on 25 and 26 April in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and 28 and 29 April in Halifax, Nova Scotia to provide consular services to Filipinos in those cities and nearby communities.

The Embassy team, led by Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia and joined by First Secretary and Consul Eric Aquino and Consular Assistants Rosalie Gosalves, Maria Teresa Bragais, Alvin Conchas, Rodel Bendicio, and Rachelle Grace Caldito processed a total of 652 consular services during the outreach mission to the two cities.

In Halifax, Ambassador Garcia also met with the Philippine honorary consular officers there, namely Consul General Sean Sears, Consul-designate Consuelo Lacson, and Vice Consul Elizabeth Eustaquio-Domondon to discuss their forthcoming projects to commemorate Philippine Independence Day and Heritage month as well as developments in Nova Scotia immigration regulations and their effects on the Filipino community there.
