07 December 2018, Ottawa – Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia (6th from the right) attended the Gala event in celebration of the Life of Senator Tobias C. Enverga, Jr. on 30 November 2018 held in Scarborough, Ontario. Senator Enverga passed away in 2017 while on an official trip to Columbia.

In her remarks, the Ambassador noted that Senator Enverga was a strong partner and a friend of the Embassy and of the Filipino community. He was instrumental in fostering stronger relations between the Philippines and Canada and in bringing Filipino heritage in the Canadian Parliament. He also made significant contributions to the strengthening institutional linkages between the two countries.

Members of the Philippines-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group, a group in which Senator Enverga co-chaired during his tenure, were also present during the event. END
