Second Secretary Jeffrey Salik makes a brief presentation on how to save money and to set-up a business in Bermuda and in the Philippines.

 24 May 2018, Ottawa. The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa successfully conducted a series of Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Seminars from 19 to 22 May 2018 in Bermuda attended by members of the Filipino Community availing of consular services being provided by the Embassy. The seminars were conducted by Second Secretary Jeffrey Salik.

This Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Seminar is part of a series of seminars being conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa to cultivate an entrepreneurial sprit among the Filipino Diaspora under its jurisdiction. The Embassy recently held a similar session last April in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Moncton, New Brunswick, and in Ottawa earlier this month.

Based on the latest census conducted by Bermuda in 2010, there were 1,103 Filipinos living and working in Bermuda. Current estimates stand at around 2,000 Filipinos in an island with an area of 54sq. km. and a population of approximately 70,000. END
