8 May 2013 - The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa has received reports concerning documents recently notarized by a person who is representing himself as Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Philippines in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The Embassy wishes to inform the public that there is no existing Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Philippines in Montreal.
The Embassy warns the public about such acts of misrepresentation and fraud.

The Philippine Government concluded on 3 May 2007 the appointment of its last Honorary Consul in Montreal and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada has been duly informed.
