20 December 2019, Ottawa – Philippine Ambassador to Canada (Ms.) Petronila P. Garcia, in her capacity as Dean of the Asia-Pacific Group of Ambassadors in Canada, received Japanese Ambassador Yasuhisa Kawamura on 19 December 2019, a day after he presented his credentials to the Governor General of Canada.
During the call, Ambassador Garcia presented Filipino Diaspora in Canada, the Embassy’s mapping of Filipinos based on available statistics and provided an overview about the regular activities of the Asia-Pacific Ambassadors in Canada. —END—

The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa Brings Consular Services to Bermuda

17 December 2019, Ottawa – Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia led the consular outreach mission conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa, together with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Philippine Embassy in Washington DC, in Bermuda from 14 to 15 December 2019.
The outreach mission processed passport renewals, notarial and civil registration services, and processed application for reacquisition of their Philippine citizenship.
Consul General Alan Deniega gave a briefing on the consular services delivered by the Embassy, while Consul Jeffrey Salik conducted financial literacy and entrepreneurship seminars to Filipinos who availed of consular services.
Based on the Embassy’s latest estimate, there are approximately 2,000 Filipinos currently residing and working in Bermuda. END.
PHILIPPINE FOREIGN SERVICE POSTS READY TO ACCEPT REGISTRATION OF OVERSEAS VOTERS

The Embassy of the Philippines in Ottawa joined other Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the Americas in a regional training seminar organized by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in relation to the resumption of overseas voters registration for the 2022 National Elections. The seminar took place in Washington, D.C. from 10 to 12 December 2019.
The Embassy was represented by Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel Fernandez III, First Secretary Eric R. Aquino, and Attaché Alvin L. Conchas III.
