Pioneering PCGA Overseas Unit Activated in Ottawa

The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa supported the activation of the first overseas unit of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) in a solemn virtual ceremony presided by Admiral George V. Ursabia, Jr., Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
PCGA National Director Vice Admiral Beethoven Sur welcomed the 19 PCGA overseas pioneers. Admiral Ursabia administered their oath before activating their 209.5 Division led by PCGA Commander Jesus Adonis Sucalit. The 209.5 Division is supervised by the 209th Squadron based in Cebu City, Philippines led by PCGA Captain Lilibeth Faelnar. The inductees were led by PCGA Commander Francisco Noel Fernandez III.
PCG Commandant Admiral George V. Ursabia, Jr. (2R, Top Row) and PCGA National Director Vice Admiral Beethoven Sur (L, Bottom Row) led the activation ceremony of the 209.5 Division, the first overseas unit of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) based in Ottawa, Canada.

This Embassy’s Consular Section in Ottawa will be open on the following date for our monthly Saturday consular service:
Saturday, 3 October, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
We will provide the following services:
- Passport application and renewal
- Consular notarization/authentication of documents (legalization)
- Civil registration (Report of Marriage/Birth)
- NBI Form No. 5 fingerprinting and consular notarization
- Reacquisition of Filipino citizenship (dual citizenship)
All clients for consular services shall secure their mandatory appointment through the following online link:

Clients must bring complete requirements for their transaction, including photocopies of required documents. There is no photocopying facility inside the Embassy.
Due to existing COVID-19 restrictions in Ontario on physical distancing and the size of the Embassy’s consular space, walk-in clients cannot be accommodated. Only clients with confirmed appointments shall be allowed entry. Minors, senior citizens, and PWDs may be assisted by another adult. The wearing of face coverings/masks is required of all persons inside the building.
