The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa organized on 19 October 2020 a Mental Health and Wellness Webinar for Philippine Honorary Consuls in Halifax and Manitoba and Filipino community leaders in Regina and Halifax.
The webinar was conducted by Ms. Liesel Aranyosi, a Registered Psychotherapist in Ottawa. She introduced general notions of mental health and shared useful suggestions in mitigating mental stress caused by COVID-related restrictions.
The webinar was organized in order to equip Filipino community leaders with basic information which could help them provide the necessary support and assistance to members of their Filipino community organizations. Mental health has been identified as an issue of particular concern during the pandemic.

The Embassy’s consular section in Ottawa will be open on the following date for our monthly Saturday consular service:
Saturday, 7 November, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
We will provide the following services:
- Passport application and renewal
- Consular notarization/authentication of documents (legalization)
- Civil registration (Report of Marriage/Birth)
- NBI Form No. 5 fingerprinting and consular notarization
- Reacquisition of Filipino citizenship (dual citizenship)
All applicants for consular services must secure an appointment through the following link beginning Monday, 26 October 2020, at 12:00 noon (Ottawa time):

Applicants should ensure that they bring with them the complete requirements when they arrive at the Embassy for their transaction, including photocopies of required documents. There are no photocopying facilities inside the Embassy.
Please note that, due to existing COVID-19 restrictions in Ontario on physical distancing and the size of the Embassy’s consular space, walk-in clients cannot be accommodated.
The wearing of face coverings/masks is required of all applicants inside the building.

The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa organized a Mental Health and Wellness Webinar for its staff and personnel from the Philippine Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.
The webinar was led by Ms. Liesel Aranyosi, a Registered Psychotherapist in Ottawa. She shared valuable guidance in coping with COVID-related restrictions through Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and introduced general concepts of mental health.
