The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs takes the allegations seriously  and is conducting an inquiry into the matter. The Embassy extended to
authorities its full cooperation to the extent defined by international law.

Consistent with a rotation process, the staff member concerned had  already been reassigned back to the Home Office.

We respect that the announcement may be a matter of interest regarding  the day-to-day activities of the police service, but note that this may not be
helpful to the inquiry.

We express confidence in the legal processes of Canada and look forward  to working on addressing concerns in a manner consistent with our friendly
bilateral relations.
