ADVISORY FOR FILIPINOS IN BERMUDA
In light of Hurricane Irma and oncoming Hurricane José, the Embassy of the Philippines conveys the following advisories to Filipinos in Bermuda:
- According to the Bermuda Weather Service, Hurricane José is “not a threat to Bermuda at this time,” and its closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 411 nautical miles to the south-southwest at 9am on Tuesday, September 12. However, the BWS adds that “this system may move closer to Bermuda after this time period.”

- Status in Bermuda (Citizen, Tourist, Permanent resident, none)
- Do you have local relatives/friends in Bermuda?
- Do you have access to water, food and shelter?
- Do you require medical assistance?
- Contact coordinates of relatives in the Philippines
- Filipinos are advised to avoid travel through the affected regions, monitor local news and weather reports, follow the instructions of local authorities, including evacuation orders.
- The Philippine Foreign Service shall continue to follow the situation very closely and are making every effort to assist Filipinos affected by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane José, and close coordination will be undertaken with local authorities and first responders.
